DESIGN

Picture
This stove is a very handsome and sturdy piece of industrial design by one of the most famous Belgian stove foundries. LFB Le Franco Belge is still operating.

This was a high end model which can still be found in use and as decoration across  Belgium and France due to it's sturdy construction, clever & stylish design and the very high quality of materials used.
In terms of efficiency this stove top of it's class for the era
  • the firebox and flu are designed to encourage secondary burn of smoke and particulates which makes fuel efficient and lower pollution
  • top hinges upward for cooking on.
  • The double walled construction with open latticed designs, allows hot air to flow up through the two layers and circulate through the room faster, acting as a natural fan system.
The efficiency of this model was never tested for CO2 output as it left the market decades before the introduction of such standards
