early 20th century/ART NOUVEAU FRIMAS A.C.C. ANTIQUE woodstove vivid BLUE ENAMEL CAST IRON exterior interior cast iron firebox The colour is quite uncommon for early 20th century stoves, most models being ranges of pale blues or browns. the more vivid colours, Reds,Purples,Blues and Greens were more expensive to produce and sought after. They still are very popular and this little example is very good value for money. This stylish little piece of French art & industrial history is finished in a vivid blue enamel on a cast iron body with internal steel box and baffle there are two repairs and pictures of the renovation process are available on my blog, Repair no.1 is to the window door, which was sealed shut due to a crack in the hinge. I have repaired the hinge using a tiny steel pin to reinforce it and resealed the window shut. The mica will last for about 5 years and can still be cleaned and changed by accessing it inside the fire behind the protective grate. Repair no.2 is to seal the hole in the firebox where the old flue damper used to be. This was used to burn coal and is no longer there, making this a wood-burning stove. You can still use coal and remove the damper in the baffle, using tongs I have replaced the mica & the new mica sheet is one large piece. _________________________________________ The motifs are fluid, floral abstracts. It will make an eye-catching centre-piece to any room because the enamel work is ON THE BACK as well as the front, making it also suitable for the CENTRE of a room This model is quite rare, being the first one I have had in the workshop. ___________________ Height 55cm Width 57cm Depth 38cm, Top of flue to floor 45cm, flue width 87-90mm This stove will produce 4-5 KW
