HISTORY

Picture
This, model first can be seen in the  1934 ROSIERES  catalogue

Rosieres still manufacture ovens today and they operate from the same departement Berry, in central France

In 1836, the Marquis de Boissy built a forge fed by the charcoal and the iron of the mines near the mill. In 1848, the Forges and Fonderies de Rosières were taken over by the Marquis de Vogüe to make rails, heavy building and public works parts.

It was in 1869 that the true birth of the Rosières of today is situated. That year, Jules Roussel, Deputy, Master of Forges, acquired Rosieres. He modernised the foundry and launched new cast iron products.
On the death of Jules Roussel, a joint-stock company was created by his heirs and engineers. In 1896 there were 600 workers in the developing city.

In 1909, Henri Magdelénat develops the means of production, reorganizes and expands the foundry, the assembly, the maintenance and the shipping shop.

It introduces enamelling of cast iron whose quality will be very quickly, unanimously and definitively recognized. He created the design office and launched new products: enamelled stoves, wood stoves and charcoal in particular. At the same time, an important program of social achievements continues, and well before 1935, the city has nearly 500 housing units and 1,800 inhabitants. It has a dispensary, a nursery, an office, a food cooperative, sports companies, an autonomous savings and family allowance service.

In 1934, Rosières won for France and several other countries, the exclusive license of the famous cooks AGA invented in Sweden by Doctor DALEN, Nobel prize.
