DESIGN It has classical style greek emblems around the windows and the patterns an borders are very classical, reminiscent of greek and roman architectural styles, with roman letteriing and square or regular column-style borders. There is one "swirl" at the base of the front which suggest ART NOUVEAU naturistic style swishes, and the legs are also hinting at art nouveay design, as is the door panel corner cut outs, which look like a typical art nouveau poster border. The overall design is definitely Classical with art nouveau influences A very fine example of French art & industrial history. It is finished in a rich enamel on a cast iron body with internal steel box and baffle |
