HISTORYThis stove is a very handsome and sturdy piece of industrial design by one of the most famous French stove foundries. It first appears as a mark 1 in the 1925 catalogue.
This was an extremely popular model which can still be found in use and as decoration across France due to both it's popularity and it's sturdy construction, clever & stylish design and the very high quality of materials used. The PLUM colour is not very common (it was more expensive to produce). Most common models of this type were pale blue or brown. _____ The Deville foundry began in 1846 & is very well known in France for it's inventions, being the first foundry to use enamel on cast iron stoves. Deville has a reputation for originality, style and quality. It is still producing high-quality stoves today and was the first French manufacturer of high efficiency pellet stoves in 2004 Deville; Le Non Pareil model 1925 - 1939. This model was first displayed in the 1925 Paris exhibition. It was developed to produce speedy heating for Parisian homes at the end of a busy working day. The quality of casting and enamelling associated with Deville is still renound today. The marque Deville was developed from the town of Charleville, Deville being the leading designer of stoves like this one, and so the factory changed it’s name to just Deville. (dept:Ardennes) Deville Today Can still be found in 08000 Charleville-Mézières still manufacturing fabulous (though sleek, modern and not in the same colour range) today in North eastern Ardennes, France |
