HISTORYFirst noted in 1934 DEVILLE catalogue
A very ART DECO example of French art & industrial history. This model could form the centrepiece for any room in a TV episode of Agatha Christie’s detective ‘Poirot’, which although written between 1925 and 1965, were all set in the pre-war period of 1929-35 The design is inspired by the (new at the time) “Crystal” radio sets and their wonderfully abstract patterns that mimic crystaline structures and suit the highly reflective, rich enamelled finishes perfectly. The overall image represented the new industrial era of clever modern, clean-lined, sleek design, using geometric abstracts and representations of man-made objects.
CONDITIONEXCELLENT
