  • Vitreous ENAMEL BLUE coloured CAST IRON exteriorCast-Iron/ Steel interior firebox 
  • Floor plate
  • Mica Windows with integral design allowing a beautiful CUT-OUT view of the flames. 
  • Removable lid to reveal the top firebox for cooking on with a circular plate for two heat options
  • When the exterior stove cast iron lid is closed the top of the stove can be used as a bain marie.
  • Air flow is controlled by the two silver knobs one on the door and the other on the opposite end of the stove.

All these features work perfectly.

Briffault FLAMUS

DESCRIPTION (measurements are metric)

 SAPPHIRE BLUE ENAMEL 

CAST IRON exterior/interior steel firebox
this model was constructed around 1925.

A pretty little piece of French art & industrial history,Flamus partly dismantled and rebuilt,(see pics)
I have changed the Mica and replaced all nuts and bolts that needed changing,the firebox is in good condition as is the fire brick,the enamel is in good condition only having a few age related small chips mainly around the lid.Have also replaced the fire rope in the door.
It is a medium sized multi-fuel stove & will produce approx 4/5KW with well seasoned hard wood.

  • Mica Windows with integral design allowing a nice view of the flames. 
  • It has a side opening door
  • Air flow is controlled by the knob on the door of the stove
In very good working order
This is a nice looking little budget antique working stove
will take Wood, Compressed wood blocks and eco-logs.
It will accept logs up to 20cm diameter, 32cm long

  • AN art Deco wood stove a fitting addition to any home as a centre piece or as it should be a working antique.
_______________________________________________________________In terms of efficiency this stove is very efficient for the era and still compares favorably with modern stoves of similar size.
  • the floor is lined with firebricks which also store the heat. 
The efficiency of this model was never tested for CO2 output as it left the market decades before the introduction of such standards.

CONDITION

Some small chip to door frame and slight warping to exterior steel rear panel. Will in no way affect use or safety and is purely cosmetic

RENOVATION

I have  ​PARTIALLY Dismantled & reconstructed during this process.
  • Replaced the mica
  • Replaced any worn bolts and nut with new stainless steel
  • Rubbed down and painted all the exterior STEEL AND CAST IRON shell using 900°c stove enamel paint or stove blacking where appropriate
  • Rubbed down and repainted all cast iron or steel parts
  • Rubbed down and pared back damadged chromed parts to bare metal and repainted with silver/grey/black 900c stove enamel
  • Lit the stove to check for leaks and seal the enamel paint or varnish used 
  • Replaced firebrick *not necessary*
