DESIGN

Picture
The motifs are reliefs and cut-out cast iron work: classic floral designs, made into Romano-Grecian  borders and centre pieces of delicate basket-weave and Grecian lines.
A classically styled architectural antique
A sturdy construction, clever & stylish design and  high quality of materials used.
In terms of efficiency this stove top of it's class for the era
  • It has enamel extending all around the back so is perfect for a central position or set further into the room which increases the heat output.
  • top hinges upward for cooking on, Top-loading.
  • the floor is lined with firebricks which also store the heat.
  • A clever piece of technology or it's time, this stove has an adjustable flue height -see photos
  • The double walled construction with open latticed designs, allows hot air to flow up through the two layers and circulate through the room faster, acting as a natural fan system.
The efficiency of this model was never tested for CO2 output as it left the market decades before the introduction of such standards
